Terms of Use
Last updated 2026-06-28. Written in plain language.
The short version
Catalyst is a self-help tool — a conversational mentor for your relationships and your own thinking. It is not therapy, not medical care, and not a crisis service. By using Catalyst you agree to these terms.
What Catalyst is — and is not
- It is a self-help and coaching tool: it asks questions, reflects patterns back, and helps you think things through.
- It is not a therapist, counselor, psychologist, or doctor. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and it does not give medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
- It is not a substitute for professional care. If you are dealing with something that needs clinical support, please see a licensed professional.
If you are in crisis
Catalyst is not a crisis or emergency service and cannot help in an emergency. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, contact your local emergency number right away, or reach a crisis line (in the US, call or text 988). If you are outside the US, contact your local emergency services or a regional crisis line.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old to use Catalyst. By using it, you confirm that you are.
No guarantees
Catalyst is provided “as is.” We don’t promise any particular outcome, result, or improvement. The AI can be wrong, incomplete, or misjudge a situation — treat what it says as a prompt for your own thinking, not as instruction. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions.
Your responsibilities
- Use Catalyst lawfully and for your own personal reflection.
- Don’t rely on it for decisions that need a qualified professional (medical, legal, financial, safety).
- Don’t misuse the service — no attempts to break, abuse, or extract the underlying systems, and nothing illegal.
Accounts, access, and pricing
Your first conversation with Catalyst is free and requires no payment method. Continuing beyond it requires a paid subscription, which begins with a 7-day free trial when you add a payment method; you aren’t charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then. You can delete your account at any time.
Privacy
How we handle your data is covered in our Privacy policy.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Catalyst and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, or for decisions you make based on it. Catalyst is a tool to support your own judgment — it does not replace it.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We’ll post the current version here and update the date above.
